Book Summary(1)

On one school day, Matt Lathrop is organizing his locker as usual, suddenly a multitattooed, multipierced girl named Skye Colby came up to him and asked him out. At first, Skye's attention made Matt really uncomfortable, but as Matt thinks more about Skye, he decided to go out with her. After e-mailing Skye, they agreed to meet each other at a park after midnight that day.

Matt had a sister named Katy, he considered her as the only family that he had. Matt spend more time with Katy than with his parents, and he took care of Katy since she was born, and for some reasons, their parents, especially their dad gets really weird and awkward when they get around with Katy.

In the park, Skye and Matt talked, kissed and even though it is kind of awkward, but Matt is actually having a good time. And at the end of their "date," they agreed to keep this relationship as secret as possible. Matt was happy about this agreement because he didn't want to embarrassed himself by telling others that he dated the "slut puppy."

Matt didn't really have much friends, the only friends he had is Ken and Jeremy, which Ken was a computer geek and Jeremy was a big friend of parties, and he always dreamed of being a college student because he enjoys college parties.

After Matt went to the date, a girl name Taylor Bank talked to Matt, and told warned him that Skye was dangerous and he was better off to get away from her. This seems really rare to Matt because a girl like Taylor would never talks to him and he was wondering how she knew about Skye and him.

One day, a strange middle age man visited Matt's house, this man was Katy’s father who Matt's mom had an affair with several years ago. This reminds Matt what happened ten years ago. To keep a stable house, Matt's dad accepted Katy as her own daughter, but he never pays attention to her. The situation of Katy makes Matt feel sorry and he thought that if Katy has no dad to love her, he should be the one who responds to love her twice as much.
